Media Release
Gold Coast upstart label Bunny Chow Down takes out Grand Champion and 1st Place Chutney at the 2018 Toowoomba Show.
The South African inspired products are proving popular in South East QLD with the label’s all natural Beetroot Apple Chutney receiving the highest score from Toowoomba Show judges.
Bunny Chow Down’s creator Scott MacArthur welcomes the authentication that the awards bring.
‘Even though people tell you it’s a good product, being acknowledged and recognised by a professional food critic means a lot.’ he said.
The label’s other all natural and handmade products took home awards for 1st Place Pickle for the Vegetable Mustard Pickle, 2nd Place Chutney for the Chilli Mango Chutney, 2nd and 3rd Place Jam for the tangy Red Chilli Jam and the Cranberry Apple Cinnamon Jam and 3rd Place Rosella Jam for the Rosella Jam.
‘The awards tend to encourage people to try something different rather than sticking to the run of the mill flavours.’ he said. With tougher competition at Brisbane’s 2018 Ekka the label took home 2nd Place Pickle for the Vegetable Mustard Pickle and 3rd Place in the Cottage Industry Category for the Turmeric Banana Coconut Chutney.
Scott will continue to enter Bunny Chow Down in major food shows around Australia and also sugar-free trial options of the popular flavours which are already gluten, dairy, emulsifier and thickener free with no added preservatives and vegan-friendly - click here to have a look at all our products.
